Welcome to, “Sensory Awareness and Regulation tools,” a one-day online training course.
This stand-alone training is also Module 3 in the BPS Approved Certificate and Diploma in Autism and Mental Health. The knowledge, skills, and principles introduced in this one-day training will underpin the approaches incorporated into the remaining modules in the Certificate and Diploma programme.
In this module you will develop a comprehensive understanding of how sensory sensitivities may impact on an autistic person’s mental health and wellbeing alongside increasing your access to skills, tools, approaches, and strategies that support sensory and emotional regulation.
There are six lessons in this course with a mixture of tutor led sessions, additional video clips, articles, worksheets/exercises, review of resources and completion of reflective practice worksheets.
We are joined in this Module by Moyna Talcer, a Consultant Occupational Therapist and Sensory Integration Therapist.
Please pace your learning, the course guide is there to help you think and plan your study, using the breakdown table for each lesson. Some practitioners have found it helpful to work on one lesson per week.
We wish you all the best with the course.
Warmest wishes,
