The National Centre for Autism and Mental Health delivers autism and mental health training for practitioners, services and organisations across the UK.
NCAMH was founded by Jenny Phaure, a neuro-affirmative Child and Adolescent, Adult and Family Based Psychotherapist specialising in autism and mental health. Jenny is also the Clinical Director at the National Centre for Autism and Mental Health (NCAMH).
Jenny has a long history of working in the autism field. She completed her first clinical training over 30 years ago as part of a Learning Disability Team within a Mental Health Trust, where she undertook clinical work with autistic clients. Since then, she has worked in NHS Mental Health Trusts and with a wide range of national and regional charities, including the National Autistic Society, Barnardos, Refuge, Brook Advisory Centres and Mind.
NCAMH exists to strengthen neuro-affirmative and responsive mental health services, and to help ensure autistic people (diagnosed and undiagnosed) can access the right support at the right time. In practice, this includes expanding the network of neuro-informed and affirmative therapists, as well as support services, settings and evidence-led approaches. It also involves supporting the development of local autism and neurodivergent pathways, so that families and professionals can navigate care with more clarity and confidence.
Today, NCAMH provides autism and mental health training through workshops and courses delivered in the UK and internationally. These sessions are designed to be practical and clinically grounded, helping professionals translate neuro-affirmative principles into day-to-day assessment, communication, and care planning. As a result, learning is not only informative, but directly applicable to real services and real people.
