BE PART OF OUR NEURO-AFFIRMATIVE THERAPISTS DIRECTORY

NCAMH are in the process of developing a Therapists Directory providing autistic and neurodivergent people and families with access to neuro-affirmative practitioners who are both neuro-informed and responsive.

There are three levels of entry into the Directory, each requiring a level of training to ensure that a minimum set of standards are met in relation to practice.  Autistic and neurodivergent people deserve to know that those they are seeking help from offer an approach that is responsive to their individual support needs, particularly if they are experiencing co-occurring mental health concerns. The three levels of entry into the diretory and training required are as follows:

ASSOCIATE PRACTITIONER:  The Associate Practitioner will have completed a Foundation Level Training with NCAMH which includes Module 1:  Understanding Autism and Mental Health and Module 2:  Core Skills and Adjustments to Practice.

APPROVED MEMBER PRACTITIONER: The Approved Member Practitioner will have completed the BPS Approved Certificate in Autism and Mental Health (Modules 1-7, Foundation and Intermediate Level Training) and be committed to updating their pratice with 5 hours CPD per annum with NCAMH.

FELLOW MEMBER PRACTITIONER: The Fellow Member Practitioner will have completed the BPS Approved Diploma in Autism and Mental Health (Modules 1-7, Foundation and Intermediate Level Training + Modules 8-13, Advanced Level Training).  Practitioners are also committed to updating their practice with 5 hours CPD per annum with NCAMH.
